2019 Bard College Boys Lacrosse Camp
About the Camp
The mission of this camp will be to expand the knowledge and fundamentals of youth players who want to excel in the sport of lacrosse. Age groups will be separated to ensure that each player receives the proper coaching, accommodating all skill levels. Campers will benefit from different drills working on their fundamentals while increasing their knowledge of the sport, and most of all HAVE FUN doing it!

This program is designed for boys ages 8-14, consisting of skill instruction, drill work, strategy lessons, demonstrations and match-like game situations. Campers will receive t-shirts, lunch at Kline Commons Dining Hall, snacks and refreshments.
Nico Brands came to Bard in November of 2018. A native of Vermont, Brands attended Bishop's University in Sherbrooke, Quebec. As a freshman on the lacrosse team, he helped the Gaiters win the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association Baggataway Cup National Championship. He was a CUFLA East All-Canadian First Team defenseman in 2013 and 2014. As he finished his Business degree there, with a minor in Sociology, he worked as a volunteer assistant for the boys lacrosse team at Woodstock (VT) Union High School. He also was an assistant on the boys ice hockey team there, helping the squad win a Div. II state championship in 2018. Brands has worked numerous camps and clinics over the years and has been involved in civic projects, like the Terry Fox Run in Sherbrooke. He was also a four-year member of the Bishop's University Neighborhood Watch Committee.
